About the Role
The Cost Controller will take ownership of the organisation’s Group cost structures, ensuring head office costs, overheads, and cost centre reporting are accurately captured, allocated and reported across the business.
This role will lead the accounting oversight of intercompany transactions, transfer pricing arrangements, internal recharges, and overhead allocations, ensuring strong financial governance and transparency within the Group internal reporting framework.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across finance and operations, the role will provide insight into cost drivers and support strategic decision-making through high-quality reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Group Accounting & Internal Reporting
- Lead Group cost centre reporting, ensuring accurate and timely internal reporting of head office costs and overheads
- Oversee accounting and reconciliation of intercompany balances, transfer pricing arrangements, and internal recharges across the Group
- Ensure consistency and transparency in the treatment of Group overheads and shared service costs
- Provide insight and analysis to senior leadership on Group cost performance and cost drivers
- Produce detailed cost centre reporting, including monthly variance analysis and financial insight
- Ensure accurate allocation of head office costs and overheads across business units and functions
- Maintain and improve cost allocation frameworks across Group functions
- Lead the cost centre reporting component of the annual budget process
- Partner with departmental leaders to forecast and manage head office costs and overhead budgets
- Support scenario planning and financial modelling related to Group cost structures
- Ensure strong governance over intercompany transactions, transfer pricing policies, and internal recharges
- Maintain robust financial controls across Group accounting and internal reporting processes
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, increase efficiency, and reduce manual adjustments
- Strong technical accounting and management accounting experience within a Group environment
- Extensive experience managing cost centre reporting, head office costs, and overhead allocations
- Proven experience with intercompany accounting, transfer pricing and internal recharge structures
- Strong understanding of Group internal reporting frameworks
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into strategic insight
- Experience with SAP / S4HANA or similar ERP systems
- Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnering skills
- Experience working within a global Group finance structure
- Exposure to finance transformation or process improvement initiatives
- Ability to combine strong financial governance with commercial insight
