FP&A Manager
Our client is a global sports entertainment business; they have a very varied portfolio, covering event production, media rights, sponsorship, ticketing, and digital content. Overall Purpose of the Role

The FP&A Manager will play a critical role in driving financial insight, performance management, and decision support across a core global business area within a fast-growing, profitable business. Acting as the primary finance business partner to senior commercial and operational leaders, the role will combine deep financial analysis with strong storytelling to influence decisions, optimise performance, and support sustainable growth. The FP&A Manager will lead a small team of analysts and will be accountable for translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insight.
This is a high-impact role offering close exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to shape FP&A processes within a dynamic, international environment.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

This is a forward-looking, insight-driven FP&A position focused on performance, planning, and commercial partnering.

Business Partnering & Insight
  • Act as the lead FP&A partner for a defined global business area, supporting senior stakeholders with financial insight, challenge, and decision support.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the commercial drivers, metrics, and operational levers within the events and sporting business.
  • Provide a clear analysis of performance, risks, and opportunities, with a strong focus on the “so what”.
Planning, Forecasting & Performance Management
  • Ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for the business area.
  • Lead monthly performance reviews, delivering concise and impactful commentary against plan and forecast.
  • Build and maintain financial models and scenarios to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
  
Leadership & Team Management
  • Direct line management of 3 FP&A Analysts, including coaching, development, and quality assurance of outputs.
  • Foster a high-performance, curious, and commercially minded team culture.
Reporting, Processes & Continuous Improvement
  • Own and evolve management reporting packs, dashboards, and KPIs relevant to the business area.
  • Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, tools, and ways of working, leveraging systems and automation where possible.
  • Partner closely with Accounting, Commercial Finance, and Data teams to ensure consistency and integrity of financial information.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Proven FP&A experience within a complex, fast-moving organisation (gaming, tech, digital, or sports).
  • Strong background in financial business partnering with senior non-finance stakeholders.
  • Experience owning budgets, forecasts, and performance management cycles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing analysts or junior finance team members.
Skills & Competencies
  • Excellent analytical capability with the ability to translate data into commercial insight.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills; able to challenge constructively.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills (experience with BI tools beneficial).
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable operating in an evolving environment.
Desirable
  • Experience in a global or international business.
  • Exposure to high-growth or digitally led businesses, ideally within sports or adjacent sectors.
